How much is it to stay at CasaCanine?

$35 including HST for a kennel stay for one dog. Our full rate list is on the services page. We accept cash, cheque and email money transfer.

Do you charge extra for walks or play-time? How about for medication?

Walks and play-time are basic doggie-needs – we do not charge extra for these services. If your dog needs medication, there’s no additional fee for that.

What do I need to bring? Food bowls? Bedding?

We provide food bowls and bedding. Just make sure your dog is checked-in with a collar and leash and plenty of food. (See next question.) It’s fine to bring your dog’s favourite toy. Just be aware that – just like at home – they tend to get destroyed or lost, so only bring them if you’re okay with possibly losing them.

If you think your dog might be anxious being away from you, you may want to leave an old sweater or t-shirt so they can remember your smell. This can help keep them calm.

What will my dog eat?

We’ll feed your best friend according to the instructions you leave us in the Booking Request Form. Because dogs’ stomachs are sensitive to changes in their diet, we ask that you supply food for the duration of your dog’s stay. Please bring your dog’s food in big plastic bins – Tupperware style – not plastic bags. In case there should be an unexpected change to your pick-up date, please pack extra. Should your dog’s food supply run out, we will of course make sure they are well-fed!

I’m not sure my dog will get along with others. Can you still accommodate him or her?

Of course! In our Booking Request Form we ask for detailed information about your dog so we can be sure to make their stay at CasaCanine as enjoyable as possible.

Will I be able to see pictures of my dog while I’m away?

Sure thing! Check out our Facebook page for pix updated regularly.

Will my dog get sick from the other dogs?

To protect our guests, we insist that all dogs are immunized against Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus and Parainfluenza (commonly known as DHPP), as well as Rabies and Bordetella. See the Booking Request Form for more information.

What form of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque, or email money transfer.

How big are the dogs’ pens?

Big dogs’ pens are 24 square feet. Smaller dogs may stay in pens that are 12 square feet.

Each pen is semi-private, giving guests the opportunity to see other guests, or, if they prefer, to relax out of sight from others.

What happens if my dog gets sick or injured?

We are trained in St. John’s Ambulance Pet First Aid. If your dog gets sick or is injured, we will try to contact you or your emergency contact person. Then, if needed, we will contact your veterinarian, or our local vet and arrange for service. Any charges will be added to your invoice.

Can I visit before I book?

Of course! Call or email to arrange a visit, or just swing by during office hours.
